Need Trip Planner???
ANYONE NEED THE BEST TRIP OF YOUR LIFE PLANNED?

Let me know! My Dad plans AMAZING trips (Europe, US, Peru - you name it!) and wants to plan a trip for others. You pay only for the cost of the trip (flight, hotels, etc.) - you don't have to pay my Dad anything. All he asks is that you give him feedback at the end.

Blog of his last trip http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Zpet.../Trips/10176

I can have him send you a CD of other trips he's planned, to get a feel for what he can plan for YOU. You tell him how much you want to spend, what area you want to visit, and he'll do the rest! Relieves all the stress out of planning a vacation!

Gone Are The Days
Gone are the days where I can put something on the edge of the kitchen table without worrying my little Ryan will get it - he's 13 months now.

Gone are the days when I can enjoy a special drink, candy, or sweet without having to share with anyone else. Sometimes I can hide it or convince Justin that it's just mine, but there's no reasoning with a 1 year old. He now wants everything I'm eating and drinking.

Gone are the days where Justin can get away with being rough with Ryan, and Ryan take it lying down (so to speak). Yesterday, Ryan got my cleaning broom, came over to Justin and started whacking him on the head with it. He thought it was hilarious (To be honest, so did I).

We'll have to be buying 2 kid's meals here soon because Ryan eats so much, but I look forward to what lies ahead with the kids getting older.

Second Snow in Greenville Winter 2010/2011
Today's storm is the second snow storm we've had this winter. First Christmas day, which we were not here for, but when we came back we still got to enjoy the snow for a day.

This second storm started around 4am this morning (yes Jeremy & I were up to watch it start) and has been snowing pretty constantly since then. I couldn't tell you how many inches we have so far, but it's a good bit! Nice and powdery, but a little wet too. We haven't been able to sled down the hill in front of our house yet, but have enjoyed playing in it. We'll update later with more pics as the weather progresses.

I love living in Greenville, SC!!!

Justin is 4 and Ryan is 1 Pictures
Justin turned 4 in October and Ryan just turned 1 in December. We tried to get pictures of the boys before Christmas, but both of them were crying and refused to sit down. So, we tried again this morning and it turned out great. Another blog coming soon about Christmas events and Ryan's first birthday.

Be sure to view the pictures full screen for optimum quality (in upper right hand corner).

Peanuts - The Great Pumpkin Patch Express
After leaving the campground, we took a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. They had a special event because it was October called "Peanuts - The Great Pumpkin Patch Express".

We took a 30 minute ride to the "Pumpkin Patch" where they had all kinds of things for the kids including roasting marshmellows, hayride, trick or treating, bobbing for apples, pick your own pumpkin, bounce houses, and coloring and tatoo station.

The bobbing for apples was interesting because at no time did the kid touch the water, instead, it was a PVC pipe they raised and lowered to try to catch an apple with. The trick or treating was also cool. You walk into a big tent and there are four cutouts of a house (picket fence and door) that the kid is supposed to walk up to, knock on the door, and say trick or treat for some candy.

I really thought Justin would enjoy the bounce houses and slides, but when we first arrived at the pumpkin patch he didn't really want to do anything. The first thing he saw he wanted to do was...get this...play Checkers. Checkers! He later warmed up and we couldn't get him away from the activities. We had a great time on the train and at the pumpkin patch!

Camping in Bryson City, NC
This past weekend the four of us went camping in Bryson City, NC at Kirkland Creek Campground for two days. We chose to stay in a small cabin this time instead of a tent. The cabin was nice and cozy and situated just a few feet from a stocked Trout Pond. It had a Full bed, sofa bed and small loft with a single twin bed.

We sat around some and enjoyed exploring the campground. Justin swung on the swings, played Horseshoes and we fed the trout (multiple times!) but didn't go fishing this time. Saturday night the owner and the regulars put out a great spread for us including hamburgers, hot dogs, peach cobbler and many other items. We sat around enjoying all the other camper's company and after dinner all the kids made Smores. Gunny (owner & guy in yellow shirt in pictures) gave all the kids a ride on his Backhoe; he even let Justin drive it one time.

Then, on our way out of town Sunday, we went to the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad for the Peanuts (Charlie Brown & Snoopy) Pumpkin Patch Express train ride. More about that in my next blog...

Kids Say the Funniest Things
Here's some funny things Justin's said lately.....

You know how when you ask a kid what he wants to be when he grows up they say things like a Firefighter or Astronaut. Well, Justin's wants to be a "WORKER" just like Daddy, not a computer programmer or anything just a "Worker".

Alexis was here visiting a few weeks ago and broke her elbow on the slip-and-slide (100' x 10' - it was fun! broken elbow not so much!). We ended up taking her to the hospital to get it checked out because she fainted and was convulsing. The next morning when Justin saw Alexis he said to her "Alexis. You should have been more careful. Next time don't slide on your elbow, you should slide on your belly like me." That same week we were all riding in the car and totally serious, Justin says, "Do you know what we do to bad guys?....We take a sharp knife and cut their throats."  I think the boys were playing a little too much pretend combat that week!

The other day....
Mommy: "Where are you going to work when you get bigger?"
Justin: "I'm going to work with Daddy at his work"
Mommy: "Who is going to be your boss?"
Justin: "Mr. Steve" (aka Jeremy's boss)

Yesterday....
Mommy: "Do you know what Daddy does at work?"
Justin: "He works on computers IN his desk"
Mommy: "What does Mommy do at work?"
Justin: "Nothing. Womens don't work at work. Only mens can work at work"

Yesterday in the car I was eating a Fiber One chocolate granola bar for breakfast...
Justin: "Mommy...don't eat too much of that because when you find honey you should eat just enough. If you eat too much honey you'll get sick."

Jeremy's Graduation
After 9 years of working his butt off, Jeremy graduated from USC Upstate Tuesday, May 4th with a Bachelors in Computer Information Systems with a Minor in Math. The campus was beautiful. It had little ponds, greenery everywhere, and just looked like it was kept up nicely. The ceremony was outside in an open field behind the Administration Building, surrounded by big beautiful trees. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm but a gentle breeze. It lasted for about 2 hours. They had over 800 people graduating in his class. After the ceremony a few of us went to Logan's to celebrate.

Congratulations, Jeremy for all your hard work!

My Pictures from the ceremony and after. Sorry for any duplicates (was just trying to make sure I got a good one).

My Greatest Fear Multiplied by 4
Ok, so we leave for the first part of our vacation in 4 days and of course now my greatest fear comes true. I've been a little worried that someone will get sick and either we wouldn't be able to enjoy our vacation as much OR we wouldn't be able to go at all.

Well, not just one of us, but all FOUR of us are coming down with something. Yey us! Hopefully it's just allergies and it will go away very soon.
Ryan is extremely congested & sneezing
      Justin is congested and coughing
Jeremys got a sore throat and post nasal drip
I have a sore throat, slightly congested, and my neck aches

Ryan's been congested for a few days now, but the rest of us just got this yesterday. Coincidentally, the night before, I vacummed. That's what I get for cleaning!!

On top of being sickly myself, I had to wake up lots of times last night and this morning because of Ryan. His congestion kept waking him up. I tried the warm shower thing, but it only helps so much. I'm going out today to buy us all Saline Spray!

6 Days and Counting.....Thank God!

We're finally down to the last week - 6 days and counting. Yey!!! For those of you who haven't received an announcement yet, Jeremy will be Graduating Tuesday, May 4th at 7pm from University of South Carolina - Upstate.

I can't wait for our post-graduation-celebration-vacation. Jeremy and I will be dropping off both boys at his parent's house, then flying to San Diego for 4 days alone (no kids!!). We'll go back to his parents to pick up the boys and head on down to my parent's house where we'll drop Ryan off. Then, Jeremy, Justin, and myself will head to Port Canaveral for a 4 day Disney Cruise. I can't wait!!

I also can't wait for the night when I don't have to take care of both kids bed times at the same time by myself. Jeremy's really busy here lately with school trying to crank out 3 papers, take 4 quizes, study for 1 test and 2 finals. So, I had to handle bed time alone again. Here's how my nights have typically gone this week...I tuck Justin in bed either with Ryan in my arms or listening to him screaming down stairs. Then come down stairs to breastfeed Ryan, not but two minutes later Justin comes downstairs with some sort of excuse as to why he cannot go to bed yet. I tuck him back in bed with a possible spanking. Then of course a few minutes later something else. This goes on for 30 minutes to 1 hour, trying to take care of both whiny boys at the same time. No fun!

For those of you who's kids are grown now....consider yourself lucky :)

Jeremy's 24th Birthday
Jeremy turned 24 yesterday the 16th of November. Man he's old :) Just kidding. I'm actually 5 months older than him so he's always calling me the old one. Well, he was supposed to be busy all weekend with homework and a big school project, so I didn't want to plan anything really big like camping and cause him more stress than fun. But, as it turned out and by God's doing, he was able to get his homework and some of his project done all on Friday night. So, we pretty much had the whole weekend available to party.

Video of the birthday festivities.

Saturday night Jeremy's friend from work and his wife came over. We ate pizza, played a few board games, and some Wii. We had alot of fun hanging out with them. Sunday, after church, we got to take a nap. Then after we woke up, we all went to Guitar Center to pick out Jeremy's new Acoustic Electric Guitar which was my birthday present to him. He picked a really great looking one, if you ask me. After we shopped for Jeremy's guitar, we came back home, put the candles on his cake and Jeremy and Justin blew them out. Then, we sent Justin off to bed because it was getting late. Since I thought Jeremy was going to be working all weekend, I thought it'd be better if we had a finger food dinner then if we had time watch a movie. Jeremy and I prepared the meat and cheese, chips, etc. together then sat down, ate our food and watched Arnold Swarzenegger's "The Eraser". It's an old movie but a very good action movie if you've never seen it.

We didn't do anything spectacular, but I think we all enjoyed being together and Jeremy not having to stress about school and projects. It was a nice relaxing weekend!

Update on the Billers

So, it's been a while since I've added pictures of Justin besides our first camping trip with him. I added some recent pictures of him under Justin, and some pictures under Family. Take a look.

Justin changes so much every day! He is so smart; you've really got to be creative to outsmart him. He remembers things that you told him days ago or even weeks ago. For example, Justin and I went to Walmart one day grocery shopping. Justin saw a cool little box of tattoos that you rub-on to Pumpkins. Well, I thought it was cute but wasn't sure what Jeremy would think about it, or if he even wanted to decorate for Halloween. So, I told him that we'd tell Daddy and maybe Daddy would buy it for him. Well, one week later we were back at Walmart for something else. Justin saw that same box, picked it up, looked at me and said "Daddy buy??". Crazy. Another instance, I told Justin that we'd show Daddy something when he got home. Four or five hours later....Justin goes running to the door telling Daddy to come look at what it was I told him earlier we'd show Jeremy.

Photo Number 1317Well, for those of you wondering. We did end up buying those rub-on things for Justin. Jeremy and Justin decorated the little pumpkin I bought and had lots of fun. It's a much better activity for a 2 year old then carving a pumpkin, certainly funner for him.

On a different note, Jeremy, Justin and I went camping with Jay, Crystal, Joseph, Kayla and 3 dogs went camping 2 or 3 weeks ago at Table Rock (same place we did last time, just the three of us). It was a blast. I know we all had a great time visiting with the Billers/Sanders. I don't have time to blog about it now, but take a look at the pictures.

I'll also explain the pictures of Justin with a turtle at a later date.

Hope you all are having a great week! I will be blogging again soon, keep checking out website for new updates.

Our First Family Camping Trip

Last weekend Jeremy, Justin and I went camping for the first time since Justin was born. We went with Geoff, a friend of Jeremy's from work and Geoff's Mom, who was visiting. We got two sites side by side in Table Rock State Park.

We were short a few things necessary for camping. So, we went to the store and loaded up on all the necessities not already in our possession. For Justin, we bought him his very own kids size Camoflauge sleeping bag and kids size camping chair. I think he liked both.

We weren't sure if Justin would like it or if he'd be bored to death. There were times where I think he got a little bored and started getting into a bit of trouble, but for the most part he really enjoyed being outdoors.

We brought a bike, ball and a couple little toys for him to play with. The bike was good, but the campground was a bit hilly, so he didn't get to ride it much. At one point we had to run down the hill to stop him before he got going to fast. Same with the ball :) He enjoyed playing with the dirt and leaves, the tent, the fire, and of course Geoff's Mom's dog. We did go to the playground for a little while when Justin was getting a bit restless. I think we all enjoyed it. He also liked to play in the tent and sweep it up, but he did not however enjoy sleeping in the tent. The first night I had a hard time getting him to go to sleep and stay asleep through the night. The second night was much easier...I drove around in the car until he fell asleep then picked him up and layed him in the tent. He stayed asleep through the night and actually slept in a bit.

Jeremy and I still had to watch Justin all the time, but it was nice to relax outdoors for a few days. The bugs didn't bother us at all and it was hot but not too hot. We mainly sat around the fire and talked, cooked, ate and threw anything and everything into the fire to see how quickly it would melt.

The food was my favorite part :) We had hot dogs with chili, pancakes, bacon, BBQ sandwiches, eggs, bagels, and carne asada burritos. Jeremy had lots of fun cooking.

We had a great time and hope to do it again soon.

Here's the pictures from our camping trip.

Snow, Snow, Everywhere
Last night around 9pm it started to snow in Greenville. It was beautiful. The flakes were big and fell slowly. Jeremy and I sat on the porch and watched them fall while Justin sleep peacefully in his bed. Sometime early this morning it started to rain, so now we have semi-slushy snow with ice on the walkways and trees. It still looks very pretty though. Unfortunately, Justin and I will have to enjoy the snow from the comfort of our home since he is still coughing and I may be getting sick as well. Here's a video of what it looks like at 7:30 this morning.

    Thanksgiving 2007

Well, Thanksgiving came and went this year, but we had a blast while it lasted. The Billers and Pettys came to our house again for Thanksgiving. This year Jay and Jeremy fried a turkey instead of baking it, and the women prepared the side dishes. We had tons of good food and I think it's safe to say we all ate until we were stuffed.

We just bought a WII game console and had tons of fun trying it out with the family. Everyone had fun with it and it was hilarious to watch them swinging the remotes around. It was appropriate for the young and old(er) people :)

We also had fun playing spoons except this year it was with a twist, courtesy of Jeremy. Whoever lost that round had to eat a piece of cheese. One in particular was not so tasty, the blue cheese. So, of course we all really wanted to grab a spoon so we didn't have to eat it. We only had 2 catastrophies on the carpet (two pieces of smushed cheese). Jeremy got an outdoor fireplace for his birthday, so we had fun hanging around the fire one night. Mostly, we just hung out and enjoyed each others company.

    GOOD times!
Here's the pictures from our Thanksgiving as well as updated pics of Justin.

    Lake Keowee Vacation
The Billers (Jr. & Sr.) plus two of Kayla's friends rented a 5 bedroom house on Lake Keowee for the entire last week. We all had SOOO much fun! It started off on the wrong foot because we couldn't find the right house, then when we did we didn't have the right key to get in. All of us starving and thirsty; we decided to dig into the snacks and have us a feast. It got much better after that :)

We sat around talking, relaxing, watching lots of movies and playing games. We played Dominoes and lots of "spoons" with straws since we were spoonless. We relaxed in the hot tub, swam in the lake, and used the paddle boat (after we pulled it on land and dumped out all the water). Jay & Crystal cooked awesome food on the grill every night, we ate like champions. We hiked up Secret Falls / Miuka Falls and though some of us didn't get to see the waterfall, we had lots of fun hiking.

We were all sad to see it come to an end, but had lots of fun and made lots of memories along the way. Check out our vacation pics and the new pics of Justin.

    Trip to Florida
Justin and I, Serena, flew to Florida April 18th - 28th to visit my family. The flight there went well, and Justin behaved himself rather nicely. We arrived the day before my Dad's 55th birthday and a few days after my nephew's 5th birthday. So, we had a big barbecue that Friday to celebrate; all the family and extended family in Pensacola came. It was a blast!

While we were in Pensacola, we got to see everyone at Pine Summit and Dad's (papa's) workplace. It was fun to see all our old friends, acquaintances, and the kids at Pine Summit that have grown. We took walks to the old neighborhood park (usually to get Justin to sleep) and drove a bit around town remembering all the good times I had there. The weather was pretty humid and hot and made me very thankful I now live in Greenville.

    Photo Number 721

We got to eat at Tanya's work, Papa's Pizza on the boardwalk, and watch her in action. She did a great job. We also got to go swimming in Monica's new pool. The water was very cold, and as you can see, some of us were not quite as thrilled as the rest of us - notice said person on the green floaty barely in the water or other person taking picture that never even got in. :) Despite the extreme temperature of the water, Justin absolutely loved the water and the floaty! We loved to watch his feet kicking in the water.

We got to spend lots of time with my family, which of course was the greatest part! :) The flight back didn't go quite as well since Justin had gotten his first tooth while in Florida. We had lots of fun, but were glad to come home to Jeremy (and Ms Kitty). Here's our pics from the trip. There may be a few more stragler pictures in the next few days.

    Easter in Charleston

This year we spent Easter in Charleston with the Billers, Mike, Nita and the boys. We had lots of fun going to the beach looking for seashells. We also enjoyed cooking on the grill and roasting by the fire. The weather was perfect! A little chilly but not to cold, perfect temp for a fire. Most importantly, we spent lots of quality time hanging out with the family:)

We'll have pics up shortly from our trip.

    Justin Rolling

Just two weeks ago, Justin could barely hold his head up when laying on his stomach.  Now, he won't stay on his back!  He rolls right over and pops his head up and looks all around.

    Here are  few video clips:
  • Rolling 1
  • Rolling 2
  • Rolling 3
  • Rolling 4
  • We were surprised to hear him crying one morning and found he had had rolled himself over and was stuck lying face down in the crib.  From then on, he's been rollin like crazy!

    Check out the latest pics...

    Snow At Last
The weather channel has forcasted snow several times in the last two weeks, but never even a drop of snow, freezing rain or ice. Until now!!!! We have about 2 inches of SNOW covering the ground this morning when we woke up. It's a winter wonderland, what a treat to wake up to. Forecast calls for more snow, then freezing rain, then possibly ice. It's beautiful - take a look at "Snow In Greenville". So, you know what we'll be doing today....playing in the snow and watching movies while sipping on hot cocoa by the fire.
