Justin's New Room with Toddler Bed |
|
About 3 weeks ago, I set up a Toddler bed in the room across from the one he was in, set up his toys all around the room, and put Justin in the bed to sleep. We tried two nights in a row to put him in the new bed but he was scared, so we let him go back to sleeping in his crib. A few days later, we tried again but this time we put him in the bed during naptme. He liked it during naptime but wasn't quite so sure about it at night. He now sleeps in his new room in a Big Boy bed and is no longer sleeping in his crib.

The first week he stayed in his bed but would get out of his bed only to grab more books to read in bed. He'd be in his room for an hour or two reading before he fell asleep. The next week I think he realized he was being too good and he decided he was going to try to push all my buttons...
We would spend probably 1-1/2 to 2 hours trying to get him to stay in his bed and go to sleep. He would say he was thirsty, hungry, had to pee-pee in potty, poo-poo in potty, anything....you name it. Of course being in the middle of potty training, I felt it was important to let him sit on the potty if he said he had to pee or poop. However, he quickly used that against me. He would insist he had to go and was wanting to sit on the potty 3-4 times (though producing nothing) in the first 30 minutes he was supposed to be sleeping. So, last night I made sure he had something to drink and peed before he went to bed and was very firm about telling him NO to everything and putting him right back in bed. We struggled for just a little while and he finally gave in and went to bed. So, I'm hoping we won the battle and he will go to sleep quickly like he used to when he was in his crib. :) |

We tried Potty Training when Justin was younger because he was showing all the signs of being ready; but I think I pushed too hard and made him afraid of the potty. We reintroduced the "Potty" a month or two ago and this time we're going slowly instead of making him jump right in. He's doing pretty good and isn't afraid of it at all. He has a little potty and a top that has handles that sits on a big toilet; he likes both but would probably prefer the small one. If you ask him if he has to pee he typically says no, but if you tell him to sit and try he'll try for a little while. I have to remind him every 20 minutes or so to sit and try to pee. If I stay on him, he does well with little accidents. However, if I forget to sit him on the potty, he has an accident. He's good about telling you he has to go if it's #2 because he usually tells me and I have a few seconds to run before it actually happens. If he says he has to pee, he's probably in the middle of peeing on himself.
We've only gone out twice with Big Boy Underwear on and both times he didn't pee at all while we were out. Today, I bought him some special underwear to wear when we're out in public so if he pees it doesn't get his pants soaked. I also bought a portable potty to use until he gets the whole Potty Training thing down and can hold it until we get to the restroom. I can't wait to use them and see how he does.
So, in short...he's doing pretty good Potty Training, but it's a long process so it'll be a while before he's actually completely "Potty Trained". |

My older sister, Monica (& Family), gave Justin a Refrigerator Phonics toy for Christmas. Justin's been enjoying the magnetic letters and songs since then. I think his favorite letter is "L". He likes to put the "L" letter in the slot, push it, then hit his "Lbow" aka "Elbow" on the refrigerator and say "Bam". I didn't realize what he was doing at first, but then I realized he thinks that Elbow starts with the letter L. It's pretty funny. If you look at video below you can see that towards the end of the first clip.
He's enjoying the letters, but it wasn't until recently that he actually started singing with the songs. Now, He loves to play the ABC song and sing along with it.

Tuesday, February 17th at approximately 8pm we got rid of the pacifier for good. Justin and I were coming home from a friend's house but had to turn around and go back because I left the pacifier and Leo the Lion at their house. We finally made it home with Leo and the Pacifier, but I decided it was about time to get rid of the pacifier. So, I told Justin he was a big boy now and we needed to throw away the pacifier because big boys don't use a pacifier. He agreed and threw it away, no problem. I rewarded him with some M&Ms.
He was fine until he went to bed and wanted his pacifier, but we didn't give in. He did wake up once during the early part of the night asking for his pacifier, but went back to sleep fairly quickly. Since then, he doesn't go to bed as quickly, and occasionally whimpers for his pacifier, but is managing just fine without it. Friday, he saw the garbage man and said to me that "The garbage truck took his Pappy" but seemed ok with it. That made me feel bad, but Jeremy and I haven't given him his pacifier since Tuesday and he's been pacifier free for almost a week now!!
Don't worry...I didn't actually throw the pacifiers away, I later dug the pacifiers out and hid them for possible future child usage. |

Occasionally, Justin and I (Serena) go to a free storytime/crafts thing at one of the Child Development Centers here in town. They have state provided pre-K for those 4 year olds that meet the requirements, as well a few free classes open to the public for kids up to Kindergarden. They usually read a story or two, let the kids make 3-4 crafts, and provide a snack and drink for the kids. It's a really great program, and it's free.
Justin and I went to one today that was titled "Snowmen at Night". That happened to be the name of the book they read aloud to the kids. It was a cute little book about snowmen and how they would sneak out late at night from their spots in the yard and do all kinds of fun/silly stuff like have snow ball fights and make snow angels, etc. Then, we made a snowman book, which had all the parts of the snowman. They also made a snowman out of cotton stuffed socks, and a snowman with shaving cream and glue that once it dries can be taken off the paper and stuck to a window or refrigerator.
The crafts Justin made were so cute, I wanted to share them with all of you. I did help him just a bit, but he did most of it on his own. 1) Snowman book Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 Pic 4 Pic 5 Pic 6 2) Picture of Snowman - out of glue and shaving cream 3) Picture of Snowman - out of cotton and a sock

Trunk or Treat & Trick or Treating |
|
This year Justin was a skunk for Halloween, and the cutest skunk ever I might add. He had cute little chubby cheeks, and on the back left corner was a red heart that said "Lil Stinker". When you ask him what does the skunk say, he'd say "PU" and holds his nose. It's so cute. The Sunday before Halloween we went to our church 's "Trunk or Treat" which is their version of Halloween, similar to Fall Festival. It used to be that the kids would go around the parking lot from car trunk to car trunk and grab some candy, but now a days they have inflatables, cake walks, and games at every booth to win candy. Alot funner that way!
Justin enjoyed it much more this year. He actually enjoyed all the games and for the most part understood the whole concept of playing a game then getting candy. By sheer luck, Justin and I won on the first try at the cake walk. By the end of the night he got a handful of candy, plenty for a 2 year old, and only ate a few suckers along the way. He actually liked wearing his costume, but did try to take off the head piece a few times. He was amazingly well behaved up until the very last minute when we were getting ready to leave. It was a much more pleasant experience than last year!
We had intended just to go to the Trunk or Treat, but my friend, who came to OUR church's event, invited us to go trick or treating in THEIR neighborhood on Halloween night. So, we went. I had been teaching Justin the day before and day of to say "Trick or Treat". He picked it up very well; although I think it was more like "Tick or Teat" or "Chick or Cheat"; I don't know. At first he didn't want to put his pumpkin bag out for the candy givers to put candy in his bag; he just wanted to hold it in his hand. However, after a few houses he figured it out. He was very good at saying "Trick or Treat" and said "Thank You" most of the time.
That night, I figured out what was Justin's favorite candy....the lollipop. He must of ate 5 or 6 atleast. At first it was hilarious, then it was just annoying...Every time he would eat a sucker, he'd lick it down pretty low but not all the way then hand it to me to finish or dispose of, grab another sucker and proceed to do the same thing. This happened many times, so I had plenty of suckers that night too.
Overall I'd say it went very well. He seemed to catch on quickly and actually enjoy it. He behaved himself very well, until we stopped the candy consumption, then all hell broke loose :)

Justin's Official Birthday |
|
Well, today is Justin's birthday. Even though his birthday party is tomorrow, I decided to make today special too. So, this morning we had Justin's favorite - sausage wrapped with pancakes on a stick. Then, we went to his friend Oliver's house for a playdate. After we were done playing, we went with Oliver and his Mommy to McDonald's to play and eat lunch. Another one of Justin's favorite things to do. Tonight we plan to let Justin watch his favorite movie, the "choo-choo movie" (aka Thomas the Engine movie). So far we're having lots of fun. We're looking forward to his party tomorrow. We're going to take his 3 friends to Monkey Joe's (indoor inflatable bounce house place), then come home and eat Hot Dogs and Macaroni and Cheese. We'll let you know how that goes tomorrow.

Justin's Conversation with MeMa |
|
Justin picked up my phone tonight and said, "Me-ma! Me-ma! Me-ma!" (aka Grandma Petty). So, we called her for a quick hello. She always asks him where are the dogs, because he loves dogs and we have two across the street from us. He immediately ran to the window and was trying to find them. Then, he kept holding his toys up to the phone trying to show Me-ma, like she could actually see through the phone. He ran around the room showing her his new puzzle and blocks and legos. It was hilarious.
We were done talking to Me-ma so I was trying to get him to give her kisses and say "Goodbye". Well, he gave her kisses then closed the phone and hung up on her without any warning. Then, was confused when Me-ma was no longer on the phone. It was a very funny conversation for those watching. Here's some pictures and two videos from the event: Pic of Justin Showing His Blocks Pic of Justin Showing His Puzzle Pic of Justin Showing His Toys Video of Justin Talking to Me-ma
[btw, for anyone wondering what's on his head - yes, it is his underwear. His fancy new big boy underwear. He got them today and I was demonstrating the proper use for such articles. - jeremy :-)] |

Justin's 1st Trip to the Zoo |
|
Wednesday, April 9th Jeremy took off from work and the three of us went downtown to the Greenville Zoo. I knew where it was because I had seen the sign before, but I never would of guessed they had a zoo that size in downtown Greenville. It wasn't huge, but a pretty good size for a place like Greenville. They had a good variety of animals there including my favorites - the ginormous African elephants, giraffes, turtles that Justin could probably ride, a 1 year old gorilla (so cute), and the coolest looking Squirrel Monkeys (I wanted to take one home with me so bad).

I think Justin's favorite animals were the Lion and Gorilla and maybe the monkeys but I could tell he liked seeing them all. Can't you see the smile on his face as he looks at the monkeys?
It was the coolest zoo because it was probably 3/4ths shade and usually right infront of the cages which we were thankful for since it was quite hot that day. We went at the perfect time too because there were very few people there. They even had a small toddler play area. At the end of the zoo they had a couple of farm animals you could pet. They had a few goats, a pig, and some chickens. Justin got to pet the goat and watch someone feed them bread. He wasn't scared by the goats, but wasn't quite sure what to think about them licking his hand. I got to pet the pig.....yuck...I had no idea their hair was so wire like. It was weird.
Then, after we were done at the zoo, we went to Jimmy John's (freaky fast, freaky good subs) for dinner. Very good subs and the perfect end to our great family outing!
Zoo pictures are towards the end of the album. |

Justin, Grandma & Serena go to the Beach |
|
Two weeks ago we went to Grandma Biller's house to hang out with them while Jay was away on a business trip. We had lots of fun hanging out with Grandma, Kayla and Joseph and Grandma's dog and bird (which of course Justin just loves!!)
We had a rough start to the week because Justin started cutting a tooth which I swear was the slowest tooth to peak through the gum line in the history of baby cutting teeth. It took him a little over a week for the tooth to actually be visible to the eye. He ran a low grade fever for a few days, was always sleepy and so irritable. Now he has 4 nicely sized top teeth and 4 bottom teeth.
I got to see Kayla try on her wedding dress which of course was SOOO beautiful!! Kayla too :) hehe. I won't disclose any details, but she picked a very good one. Also, I got to try on my bridesmaid dress and get it ordered which I know was a relief for Kayla to get it out of the way. I was dying to look at it and try it out, so we had a good time. I was able to see inside the church they're planned on getting married at and the reception place, both very gorgeous. Crystal and Kayla have done a good job with all the wedding plans, it's going to be so awesome!!
We also had fun going to the Dollar Store and Wal-Mart and places like that. The weather had been kind of weird. It was hot one day then cold the next and either cloudy or rainy several days we were there. However; sunday Grandma, Justin and I went to Folley Beach hoping for good weather. It was a beautiful day for it too!! Justin had lots of fun playing in the tidal pool that came up to this knees. Grandma brought a pail, some measuring cups and a spoon to play with and he absolutely loved it! He stayed in the water most of the time just digging sand up with his spoon or filling his cups with water and dumping them back out. He didn't even seem to mind it when he splashed himself in the face. We had fun!
In case you're wondering why he has a red spot on his left cheek in almost every picture....Justin fell on the corner on a 1" thick wooden box about waist high on him. It hit on the center of his cheek getting his cheek, corner of his nose, and just under the eye. It was so bad looking. We got him looked at by a doctor and everything was good, just a bad looking gash on the side of his face and was fussy for a little while. It's healed really quickly though.
Take a look at our Easter & Beach pictures. |

March 16th, 2008 Justin had his first Easter egg hunt. My best friend Leah (her son is Dean - Justin's best friend) invited us to go to their church egg hunt since our church didn't have one. The egg hunt was at someone's house that went to her church. They had a nice big yard, enough for each age group (toddler, K-4th, and middle school) to have their own area to hunt eggs. It worked out great because we didn't have to worry about the older kids trampling over Justin for candy. Each kid was allowed 12 eggs to begin with then could go back for more once everyone had their 12 should they want more candy.
It was difficult at first because Justin didn't seem interested in finding out what those bright colored eggs were. We kinda had to lure him to each egg and even pick a couple for him so he could get his 12 and we didn't hold up everyone else. Then, he liked the eggs, but didn't understand the concept of putting them in the basket. But, once he found out the eggs had candy in it. Oh man. Needless to say by the picture below, he loved the candy inside :) Specially the chocolate M&M's. Overall, it was a fun experience but next time we'll practice before the event so he understands the concept and enjoys the hunting part more.

Christmas, New Years & Justin Update |
|
Since it's been a while since I've blogged, I feel the need to catch everyone up instead of just covering just the most recent things. I think I'll start back at Christmas time. Jeremy, Justin and I spent Christmas at our own house this year. We all went together to pick out the Christmas tree. Justin wanted to touch all the trees and kept lunging out of my arms for them. Jeremy and I hung the lights and the three of us put the ornaments up. Of course we only put Justin's special non-breakables at the bottom. We had a great Christmas together. Justin got some great stuff - you should see the giant stuffed puppy we got him; it's bigger than he is! We went to the Biller's house for New Years. On New Years Eve we went to Joseph's Mom's house out in the sticks and had ourselves a party. We had a fun meat/cheese/finger food picnic, sat by the bonfire and listened to music from the truck. The guys had a blast putting large pallets together to make the bonfire and figuring out creative ways to light the fireworks. Such as lighting one and throwing it in the creek to see if it would still blow up - which it did :) Justin loved watching the fireworks, but couldn't hold out 'til midnight. It was so much fun to be hanging out with family. That's about it for big events, but we had lots of other good times in between. So, now to the Justin update. He's becoming more inquisitive these days, though I didn't think that was possible. As you'll see from some of the recent pics, he loves to get into small places such as laundry baskets, drums, behind the trash can, under pillows, etc. He can also climb on the couch by himself now. He still doesn't give kisses often, but he gives hugs most of the time when you ask him to. He'll always kiss a stuffed animal or a fake bird though (future animal lover). He doesn't say alot more English words, but he talks ALL the time in his own little language. He's gotten good at using sign language, though he still prefers to grunt or whine when he wants something. He now knows sign language for "more, food, drink, please, all done, down" and has been known to say words such as "book, please, hello, thank you, cool, ball, bowl (aka plate), spoon, doggy, Dean (his best friend), juice and a few others". He can point to his and my nose, ears, hair and mouth and he knows what socks and shoes are and where they go. There are so many cute things he does now that this blog is becoming way to long. So for now I'll stop it here and promise to blog more soon. Last thing though, take a look at the recent pics and video - I put together a video of some of the things I've recorded Justin doing recently.

Justin and I went to Monkey Joe's today. It's an indoor place with lots of blow-up jump castles and slides. Luckily there was a section for Under 3 and parents were allowed to go on the slide with the those kids. Justin and I had lots of fun. He didn't like the really tall slide, but he enjoyed the smaller slides and the toddler area. There were only a few kids there so I didn't have to worry about Justin getting trampled over. He wasn't ready to go home, but we had to get back to eat lunch.

Sunday, October 28th Justin had his first Halloween at our church. I handmade a caveman costume with matching shoe covers and we purchased a plastic bone to go with it. He was soooo cute!! People said he looked like Bam Bam from the Flintstones. At the festival, we found a girl dressed up as Pebbles. He wasn't scared by all the people and all the noise like I expected him to be. He was too little to play most of the games they had set up, but he still got to get some candy. He got a few suckers which he carried around the whole time. He enjoyed walking around and listening to the music at the candy walk booth. He soon got hungry and tired so we had to go, but we had fun while it lasted. Look at the Halloween Pictures.

Justin just had his 1st Birthday! We celebrated it Saturday, October 27th with some of his friends from the Mom's club. Although he was recovering from a fever, he behaved very well and I think he had lots of fun. It was a trucks and cars theme in red, blue, and green. We had sandwiches, fruits and veggies and some small finger food for the kids. I handmade the big cake and his little "smasher" cake with help from my best friend Leah. It was a strawberry cake with buttercream icing. We made the icing and fondant from scratch. It turned out really well and tasted so delicious.
Justin really liked his cake but ate it very carefully. We missed out on the cake flinging and cake shoving, but I'm very thankful because I didn't have to clean up a huge mess :) There was a road around the cake with dotted yellow lines down the center. The first thing Justin did with the cake was carefully pick the yellow dotted lines off and eat them. Then play with the colorful icing on top. We had to help smash one corner so he would actually eat some cake instead of just icing. He really enjoyed tearing the wrapping paper off the presents and playing with the bows. Some toys had twistie ties on it and one had to be put together, so he got a little upset when he couldn't play with the toy right away. I think he had alot of fun at his 1st birthday party! Justin has been walking for a month and a half now and he's doing great. He's really got the hang of it; now he's cruising! Supposedly, they get into more trouble when they start walking, but for Justin I think it's about the same as before. He's still got his hands into everything!!! Mr. Curiousity. Now it just takes him less time to get there which gives him more time to make a mess :)
Justin LOVES music! He dances by jumping up and down and moves his hands side to side. That he just did on his own, but recently I taught him to clap when a song is over. So now, he claps after every song. It's so cute. Some of the videos below show him dancing & clapping to the music Jeremy got from the preschool worship at church.
We couldn't get the video from the camcorder to work on our website, so we took some videos of him with our digital camcorder instead. Enjoy!

Justin Walking & 3rd Tooth Coming In |
|
Justin started walking this morning shortly after we woke up. I thought it might have just been a fluke, but it's not. He's done it several more times this afternoon. He can't stand up by himself yet, but if you stand him up in the middle of the room he'll walk a ways. Now he's not afraid of taking a few steps from one object to another. This morning he even went from standing to squating and back up to standing again. Usually he would fall on his butt if he went from standing to squating.
Also, Justin's 3rd tooth is showing now. It's on the top a little to the right side.

Justin has been close to walking for quite some time. He can stand very well while holding something in his hands, but then sits down once he starts to move. We try to get him to walk from me to Jeremy and vice versa, but he just leans forward to grab our hands and if he can't reach them he sits down then crawls to the person. Well, yesterday he took 2 steps by himself from our ottoman to the couch while holding a remote in each hand. And, today he took four steps from his toy box to me. It'll be no time now that Justin starts walking! |

Justin's First Real Baby Food |
|
We just started Justin on real baby food besides rice cereal. So far, we've tried Peas and Sweet Potatoes. At first he ate the peas but wasn't thrilled, then after several bites he started gagging and spitting it out. He now gags and spits out the peas anytime I try to feed it to him. So, we'll have to try peas again in a few weeks and see if he likes it then. Then, we tried sweet potatoes, hoping he would like it more. He does. He loves the sweet potatoes! He'll lean far forward in his highchair with mouth wide open begging for some more. Then I thought I'd get clever and sneak some peas in with the sweet potatoes. As long as there are very little peas on a spoon with lots of sweet potatoes he'll eat it, but not peas by itself.
On a different note, Justin got his 2nd tooth two weeks ago. This one came in much quicker and much easier. There was alot less fussing going on. It actually snuck in; one day I thought I saw the 1st tooth out more so I went to check and it was actually the 2nd tooth partially in.
Justin has started getting more adventurous lately and is trying to stand up by himself. He's pulling himself up on the couch, activity table, toy baskets, people, etc. Today he even tried to pull himself on the bathtub handle. He can stand up for quite a bit while holding on to something but cannot move more than a step or so without falling over. Here's some videos we'd like to share with you of Justin lately:

Justin's First Tooth & 6 Month Checkup |
|
Justin just went for his 6 month checkup and is doing very well, with the exception of his persistent cold which he so graciously passed to Jeremy and me. He was 28" long, 21 lbs 11 oz, and with no surprise still 90's% percentile nationwide. The doctor was impressed with is development. This is such an exciting time now because he has developed so many new things. Here's just a brief summary...
I have yet to take a picture of it, but Justin started getting his very first tooth while we were visiting relatives in Florida. That explains all the excessive drooling lately. That made for a kind of rough few days and a difficult flight back home, but the worst of it is over. Now he has this cute little tooth poking up and he's not in so much pain. The bad news is that the doctor says the second tooth is never far behind :)
While we were in Florida, with the help of Mima (Grandma Petty), Justin started crawling. He's not cruising, but making a greater attempt at scooting himself toward the toy of his choice instead of rolling toward it which was his previous choice of movement. Within the last few days he's also started sitting up on his own while playing with a toy in front of him for quite a long amount of time. He sits up so well, that you can gently push him to the right or to the left and he won't fall down. He's also started trying to pull himself up on things like the crib, Jeremy and me. I think it's about time to lower the crib just in case! He's been standing well for quite some time now, but in the last week he's actually got more balanced so he doesn't rock quite as much. Finally, he's also started talking more. Although it's still unrecognizable, you can tell he is trying to speak English. He is now saying "mama mama" during the day when he's in a good mood instead of only when he's crying.
The best news, though, is that his blocked tear duct went away for good. You may remember the yucky yellow goop that would build up on his right eye and despite how many times you wiped it away it would still come back. Well, my Mom suggested dipping a cloth in warm Chamomile tea and gently rubbing his eye with it for a few days and IT WORKED! No more goopy eyes. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! |

March 31st, we took Justin to Kids Kuts for his very first haircut. Justin's hair was getting so long it was starting to go over his eyes. He got to sit on the big boy seat while getting his hair cut. He was a little squirmy but very good for a 5 month old.

First Rice Cereal Feeding |
|
On Saturday the 17th, Justin rolled over from his back to his stomach all by himself! He's been continuing to roll over ever since. It's exciting to see him move so well, but scary at the same time. Since then, he's waken up a few times in his crib stuck on his stomach screaming for help. He's not very good at rolling from his stomach to his back because he keeps his right arm stiff instead of tucking it in. Now he doesn't like to just lay on his back any more, it's too boring.
Today is the first time I fed him rice cereal and it went rather well. He loved the spoon and kept trying to take it from me. At first he was a little confused by the taste of it, but after a few spoon fulls he was begging for more. No major spit ups or projectiles, just a little drool. It was alot of fun for the both of us :) I can't wait to start all the yummy baby foods, which we'll start when we get back from Florida. You've gotta see the new pictures specially the one where he got the spoon from me and looks like he's flaunting it.

Justin and I went for his 4 month checkup yesterday which went fairly well. He's now 19lbs 5ozs, 26-1/4" tall, and has got chunky arms and legs now. He had his second set of shots which didn't go quite as well this time. He ended up choking on the liquid vaccine and crying before the shots were ever given. It was so hard to watch.
For those of you who are wandering, his eyes are still blue and hair medium/light brown. Overall, Justin's doing well. Lately, he's developed somewhat of a temper. He tends to get upset when his toy gets out of reach or when I don't give him something he wants (usually MY drink or food or something I'm holding). He's still a good baby with a great personality :)
Lately, when Jeremy comes home and sits next to me and Justin on the couch, Justin gets really excited and reaches his arms out toward Jeremy like he's saying "glad you're home, hold me". He also loves playing peek-a-boo with me while I'm in the shower and he's in his car seat on the floor (outside the shower of course). He's so cute!!! |

Justin More Aware Of Surroundings |
|
Justin weighed in at 15lbs 3oz and 24-1/4" tall at his 2 month checkup. He got his first set of shots which he handled pretty well considering the nurse poked him 3 different times with a needle.
His new tricks include rolling onto his side from his back, laughing (it's hysterical!!), continually sleeping through the night, lifting his head when on his back, pressing buttons on his ExerSaucer, and smiling every time he sees his Mom and sometimes at his Dad. Check out his pics for Weeks 9-12.
He's just starting to be introduced to other babies. This is his 3rd week we've put him in the church Nursery and he seems to be handling it well. He's behaved every time, though 50% of the time he was asleep through the whole thing. Today, after woman's bible study, Justin and I went on a play date with a 4 month old boy from church. I think he enjoyed it. Tomorrow we go to Bouncing Babies at the local Library. |

Sleeping Through the Night Update |
|
Well, Justin is sleeping through the night, but not consistently. Occassionally he wakes up after 4-5 hours then sleeps again for another 3 hours. The good news is that he sleeps through the night more than he doesn't. |

Justin's Night/Day Possibly Switched |
|
The last two nights Justin has slept through the night (11pm-7am) - with a cold and all! He's only 5-1/2 weeks old. We hope this is a continuing pattern. |

Baby Justin - 5 Week Update |
|
Justin is now 5 weeks old and just had his 1 month birthday last Friday. He had a lot of excitement this last week with his Aunt Monica, Uncle Tony, Cousins Alexis & Kevin, Grandma Biller, Grandpa Biller and Aunt Kayla who came for Thanksgiving. We all had a blast.
He had his first babysitting experience Saturday. Aunt Kayla babysat while Jeremy, Serena, Grandpa & Grandma Biller went out to dinner.
He also just got his first cold. So far he's handling it pretty well, but I know he's got to feel miserable. Unfortunately he's too young to take any medicine, so we've just got wait until it goes away on it's own.
Check out the new pics of Thanksgiving and Justin.

Baby Justin - 2 Week Update |
|
Justin's now a little over 2 weeks old and doing well. We went for his 2 week checkup Tuesday and the doctor said he looked good. He's not quite up to birth weight yet, only 9 pounds even at the checkup so we'll have to come back in 1 week. His umbilical cord fell off Thursday the 9th.
He's beginning to be quite the character. Today he held his head up for several seconds, looked around the room, and is getting better at standing up too. He has some pretty funny habits like while sleeping he smiles and raises his eyebrows for no apparent reason (probably gas), twitches even though no one touched him and no loud noises were made, and makes a very serious face like he's concentrating really hard on something. Stay tuned for more updates. |

As of 10/19 am, Justin is still chillin' in the "jacuzzi". Doctor says we can wait thru this weekend but labor will be induced middle of next week if there is no further progress. |
